Coaches Comments:
This is probably the toughest loss of the season. Our kids played
outstanding football for 4 quarters, and showed a lot of heart, we just came up
a point shy. Defensively, we held Big Bear in check most of the game.
They had one big play with about 6:00 minutes to go which gave them the lead.
Our kids showed a lot of emotion, and played as good a game on the mountain as
we have had in many years. We have come a long way since the first game
of the season, and have shown improvements each week. This loss really
hurts our chances of making the playoffs, but our team can still
accomplish some important goals in the next two weeks.
Individually, we had several key
performances. Hester played his best game defensively this season.
Emmons continued to have a stellar performance with 17 tackles. Palmer
notched 7 catches, and added 2 more interceptions to his season total. Palmer
has five interceptions in the last two games. Matthews and Randle also
had a great game combining for 17 tackles. Leopoldo performed well
along the defensive line with Robinson. Our Quarterbacks are
improving each week, and our offense has started to make some big plays.
I am very proud of the effort on Saturday, we played our hearts out.
Friday is Senior/Parents night, we look forward to honoring our Seniors and
their parents before the game against San Jacinto.
