Coaches Comments: This is another tough loss.We wanted a win for
our Seniors on Senior night, but it was not to be. We are very proud
of their efforts I really feel like our kids have improved each week,
we just haven't been able to put ball games away in the 2nd half. You
have to give their kicker credit, he made a 50 yard field goal with about 5
minutes to go for the victory.
We have had the lead in to the 4th quarter two
weeks in a row, and a couple of bad breaks have cost us. The defense
played another outstanding game. San Jacinto was only able to get one
first down, and rushed for only 66 yards on the evening. We had several players
step up and play outstanding games. Emmons led the team in
tackles again, Lilo scored defensively with a fumble recovery, and
Hester had another outstanding game. The down tackles have been one of
our biggest assets on defense. Leopoldo, Robinson, and Hannam were a
force all night long. San Jacinto had two very short scoring
drives of about 25 yards, other than that we contained them all night long.
Turnovers have hurt us the last two ball games. We gave the ball away
5 times Friday night, and that kept San Jacinto in the game. Offensive
standouts were Carpenter with a 98 yard touchdown reception, Palmer had 3
catches, and Lampkin was the leading rusher.
