29 Palms Offensive stats.   –

Passing   - 6 completions in 21 attempts. 82 yards  1 touchdown, 3 interceptions

                                                            Aliosio was 4 of 12 for 73 yards  1 touchdown, 2 interceptions

                                                            Corney  was 2 of 9 for 9 yards

 

                                   Receiving - Palmer  4 receptions  for 68 yards

 

                                   Rushing- Lampkin 8 carries 22 yards

                                                 Hester  - 7 carries 15 yards

 

Coaches comments.

 

The team played well against a much larger opponent.  Ocean View is a division 6 ball club, and we are in Division 12.  Defensively we held them to only two offensive touchdowns. If we hadn't made a special team bust on the kickoff after our score, it might have been a different game.  I was really happy with our team's effort.  We did seem to wear down in the 2nd half of the game, but Ocean view had an outstanding size advantage on the line, and they were a quality ball club.  I believe they will be one of the best teams we see all season.  Emmons, Hester, Simmons, Robinson, and Coghill were statistical leaders on defense.  Simmons had a blocked punt, which set up our only Touchdown.  A beautiful throw and catch by Aliosio and Palmer tied the game in the 2nd quarter.  We have a very young team which will get better as the season goes on.  I believe we have a much improved team from last season.  We look forward to playing Desert Hot Springs next week at the College of the Desert football stadium in Palm Desert.

Frosh-Soph wins over Oceanview with a score of 32 – 14.  Highlight defensive performance by Spiese who scored a touchdown on an interception.  Offensive standouts were Krievs, Hamby, Cardinal, Stratton, Lee and Weaks. 

 

Varsity Score was Oceanview- 23 and Wildcats- 7.
