The Wildcats lost a very hard hitting 21 - 10 game Friday night to the Beaumont Cougars.   The Cats Dominated for three quarters, and then were suddenly bitten by the turnover bug.   The game looked to be moments away from a 17 -0  Wildcat lead, when a huge defensive play turned the tide.  The Cougars Anthony Estrada picked up a loose ball and raced 90 yards for a score making it 10 -7 Wildcats.   On the very next play from scrimmage lightning struck again for the cougars as another ball went bouncing their way.  The Cougars recovered on the16 yard line and were able to  put one more score up to take a 14 - 10 lead.    Within two short minutes, the course of the game changed dramatically.   Offensively the cats were having their way with the cougars early.  The Cats drove 70 yards on their first drive of the night.  The key play was a 54 yard scoring strike from Nick Young to Anthony Banks.  A fumble in the second quarter ended another scoring opportunity for the home squad, and they went into intermission with a 7 -0 lead.  On the opening drive of the second half, the Wildcats drove all the way down to the eight yard line, settling for a field goal after a penalty on fourth down.  Rafael Cordova Split the goal post right down the middle for a 10 - 0 lead.  Offensively the cats amassed over 300 yards to the Cougars 170.  But the telling stat will be the turnover column.  Wildcats 5 - Cougars 0.

Coaches Comments:    This is a hard way to lose a game.  It looked like everything was going our way and suddenly everything just stop clicking.  We had complete control of the game until the final minutes of the 3rd quarter.  I know our kids will bounce back from this, they have a lot of character.  We must now concentrate on winning one game at a time, hopefully we will see them again in the playoffs.
