The Wildcats played host to first year program Vista Del Lago of Moreno Valley Friday night.  The Wildcats cruised to an easy 49 -0 win over the Ravens.  The Wildcats finish Non league play with a 3 - 1 record, blemished only by a  2 point loss to 5 -time champion Paraclete.   The Cats will now begin the important task of defending their league Championship against the Beaumont Cougars this Friday at home.  The cats scored early and often against the Ravens.  Anthony Banks carried the ball extremely well on the evening.  He touched the ball 4 times and scored on 3 of those carries.   He had touchdown runs of 26, 20, and 1.  Dynamite Matthews also scored twice, receiving two catches for touchdowns from Nick Young.  Dynamite scored on a 72 yard touchdown pass with 11 minutes to go in the second quarter.  He followed that up 5 minutes later with a 30 yard strike from Young.   Daniel Leopoldo showed some nice moves in a 15 yard scamper to paydirt in the 2nd quarter.   The cats led at halftime 41-0.  Our Offensive line is starting to get into mid season form.  Jacob Lee, Justin Weeks, Allan Rapp, J.J. Tryon, and Ivan Davis played well in the first half.

Coaches Comments:   The kids played with a lot of emotion tonight.  It was a good game to get a look at all of our players.   It was exciting to see some of our younger players shine a little.  We now need to concentrate on the important season; De Anza league play.  This game against Beaumont will set the tone for the rest of the season.

The Wildcat defense has been playing extremely well all season long.    The cats have one of the best defenses in the division.  The defense front has been led by Dan Leopoldo, Bernie Ayon, Brandon Johnson, Joe Villegas, Travis Barnes, David Nguyen, Alphonso Davis and Andrew Haase.    The secondary led by Banks, Matthews, Oquendo, and Young have not allowed a receiving  touchdown all season long.    The Defense will be tested this week as the  Double Wing ground control offense of Beaumont comes to town.  The Cougars have been putting up huge numbers on the ground, and rolled up the San Jacinto Tigers 28 to 10 last week.

Wildcat of the Week: Alphonso Davis

Alphonso has been working extremely hard all seaon long.  He was the leading tackler Friday night Against Vista Del LagoAlphonso had 10 tackles, 1 fumble recovery and one sack.  Alphonso has been causing the opposing offenses headaches all season long.  Alphoso is extremely  quick off the ball on defense, playing nose tackle.  He is forcing the opponents to double team him, and this is freeing up our linebackers for big plays.
